BSS HIGH ACHIEVERS 2023-24

ACADEMIC Domain

 Outstanding performance in JEE (Advanced) for IIT

UDIT SARKAR

Udit Sarkar, an alumnus of BSS (from class X passed out batch of 2021), cracked JEE (Main) and then JEE (Advanced) in 2023. Among 1,80,372 candidates, he has secured 1019 AIR (All India Rank) and in the SC category, his rank is 13. He has got admission to study Computer Science Engineering at IIT Mumbai.

 

ARKAPRATIM DEBNATH

Arkapratim Debnath, a student of class 12 (passed out this year), is another gem of BSS to crack JEE (Advanced). Among the same candidates mentioned above, he has secured 12,623 AIR. He has got admission in IIT Kharagpur. He has also been offered an opportunity to join the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), one of the oldest premier National Institute of Statistics. However, he said that his unwavering childhood dream may lead him to choose the path of IITs, where he believes he will have the greatest potential for personal and professional growth.

 

Outstanding performance in NEET for MBBS 

 

AYUSMITA DAS

Ayusmita Das, another alumnus of BSS (from class X passed out batch of 2021), appeared in the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) this year. This year around 21 lakh students appeared in this highly competitive exam. She scored 665 out of 720, having an AIR- 3696 and SC category, AIR 99. She also appeared in TBJEE (Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Exam) and her state rank is 2. She got admission to AIIMS Bhubaneswar to pursue her MBBS.

 

 

SAIFUL

Saiful, another alumnus of BSS  (2019 batch of Class 10), In the NEET 2023, he scored 586 having an AIR- 37590. With this outstanding score, he is able to get admission in RIMS Manipur to pursue his MBBS. RIMS is a premier institution for medical study in the whole North East region. It is situated in Imphal, Manipur. RIMS is in the 46th position in NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework), in the year 2022.

 

 All four of them have shared that their collaborative practices in their school, seamless support from the parents and brilliant guidance from their academics and professional mentors were integral to their success. The commitment, sacrifices, and guidance provided the necessary foundation for them to soar to new heights. They also thanked the teachers of BSS and the school environment that helped them build a strong foundation for making them more ready for the outside world.

 

RESULT OF STATE TALENT SEARCH EXAMINATIONS HELD IN 2022

 

The result of this prestigious exams held is published on March,2023.Our school has once again produced an excellent result. This exam is conducted by SCERT (State Council of Educational Research and Training), Tripura. In the Gomati district of Tripura, 3 schools (Brilliant Stars School, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and Udaipur English Medium School) have received 1 lakh each from the govt. of Tripura for performing well. This is the 3rd consecutive year our students have won accolades for the school.

The objectives of the talent search programme are to improve the standards of students in the subjects of Science and Mathematics so that they improve their performance in the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) conducted by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and other entrance examinations after HS (+2) Examination.

The Talent Search Exams are conducted in 2 categories:

1.     Tripura Junior Talent Search Exam

2.     Tripura (Science & Math) Talent Search Exam.

Tripura Junior Talent Search Exam

In the Junior Talent Search Exam, one student, Sasthayan Majumder, of Grade 6 has scored his position in the merit list. He obtained 80 out of 100 and his state rank is 87 out of 101 students.

 Tripura Science Talent Search Exam

In the Science Talent Search Exam, two students from Grade 9 begged their position on the merit list. They are:

1.     Hridrita Das. She has obtained 87 out of 100 and her state rank is 19 out of 207 students.

2.     Priyatosh Nandi. He has obtained 79 out of 100 and his state rank is 42 out of 207 students.

Tripura Math Talent Search Exam

In the Math Talent Search Exam, four students of Grade 9 have brought their names on the merit list.

1.     Hridrita Das. She has obtained 92 out of 100 and her state rank is 9 out of 220 students. This is her 2nd award in the Talent Search Exam.

2.     Chayan Debnath. He has obtained 68 out of 100 and his state rank is 99 out of 220 students.

3.     Adrija Majumder. She has obtained 65 out of 100 and her state rank is 108 out of 220 students.

4.     Angelina Jamatia. She has obtained 57 out of 100 and her state rank is 143 out of 220 students.

All the above 7 students have been receiving Rs. 500/- per month for 15 months as a scholarship for their remarkable performance and the school has also received 1 lakh to promote science and mathematics among students.

 

ARITHMETIC GENIUS CONTEST

Arithmetic Genius Contest (AGC) is an All-India Arithmetic competition for students of Grade 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. This is the 7th season of this competition where over 5,57,217 students participated from 984 top schools across India.

Debadhriti Debnath, a student of Grade 5 from Brilliant Stars School, achieved prizes in the National Arithmetic Genius contest 2022.

In the Preliminary round she scored 92 /100. Then she qualified for the 2nd round contest which was held in Ramesh school for Udaipur subdivision, Gomati, Tripura. In the Udaipur subdivision, she scored 99/100 and achieved 1st position in the subdivision level and qualified for the State level round.

The time of the State level contest was only for 10 minutes. They were given different problems from Addition/Subtraction/ Multiplication/ Division.

She achieved 2ND RUNNER UP POSITION IN STATE LEVEL and qualified for the NATIONAL LEVEL, which was conducted ONLINE from Chennai. The National level also lasted for 10 minutes and Debadhriti achieved the Benchmark. She also received cash money Rs 2000/- for the National level achieved benchmark.

 

Speech competition on Global Perspective on Science and Technology for a Sustainable Futureat Science Center, Udaipur

 

In a Science Seminar on Global Perspective on Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future held on 8th May 2023, at Science Center, a speech competition was conducted by the organization. 

The competition was held in two categories:

1. Grade 8 , 9 and 10

2. Grade 11 and 12

In the 1st category, altogether 12 students participated from Udaipur English Medium H.S school, Udaipur  Ramesh H.S school, JNV, Don Bosco school, Vivekananda Vidyapith , Gokulpur H.S school, Hariananda H.S School and Brilliant Stars School. Tapalina Sarkar of class 8 secured the 1st position by delivering the speech on global warming and its impact in the future and won a medal and Certificate. 

The 2nd category, altogether 5 students participated from Bhagini Nivedita Girls H.S School, Udaipur Ramesh H.S School, Udaipur English Medium H.S School, Brilliant Stars School and Vivekananda Vidyapith. Nabasikha Das from Grade 12 secured the 2nd position in it and was awarded a medal and certificate.

Tripura State Open Karate Championship 2023

 

Tripura State open Karate championship was organized by Tripura State Shotokan Karate Judo Association in collaboration with the Karate School Shotokan Association of Tripura and School of Martial Arts. It was held in Udaipur, Gomati, Tripura. 

Three students from Brilliant stars school participated in the championship and scored the top positions. 

Master Kaveesh Kumar of Grade 3 participated in the Karate fight and Kata event. In both events, he secured the first position and received a gold medal. Miss. Siddikhsha Gupta from Grade 5 participated in both the Karate fight and Kata event and secured 2nd position in both events. She won silver medals. Abantika Roy from Grade 5 participated in the Karate fight and secured the 3rd position. She has won a bronze medal.

Tripura state level school sports competition 2023

Tripura state level school sports competition 2023 was organized by Tripura School Sports Board. In this sports event, they arranged a chess competition which was held between 29th May - 5thJune, 2023. Radhika Majumder of Grade 6 participated in this competition in the category of girls under 14 years age group. Total 26 students from different schools situated in all 8 districts participated in it. She stood 3rd in the competition and won a Trophy and a Certificate of Merit.

The kishori utkarsh manch programme

 

The kishori utkarsh manch is a strong platform for the girl students to share experiences of achievements gathered in the field of education, art & culture, games & sports , social services and so on. The programme also provides scope for girls for gathering and expanding ideas and thoughts in the course of interaction, deliberation and discourse with others. Eminent ladies were invited as guests to give motivational speeches and share their experiences of their achievements in different fields. 

 

Altogether 50 girl students participating in district level programmes have been selected on the basis of outstanding performance in different fields. Ananya sen of class 9 was awarded with memento and certificate for her outstanding performance in district level competition and Anwesha Sarkar of class 10 received memento and certificate for her exceptional performance in international yoga competition. 

 

These two students from our school have participated in that programme. They are Ananya Sen of class 9 and Anwesha Sarkar of class 10. They also took part in a round table speech session in which they were encouraged to talk about different social issues such as stereotypes, businesses and gender discrimination etc. Both of them have shared their experiences about participating in such a programme. 

 

According to them the whole programme focused on women empowerment which aroused a very inspiring ambience. They have also shared that they felt motivated listening to the stories of the life of the guests in order to achieve their dreams and to bring changes in the society. They thanked all their parents and teachers who guided them towards the right path to achieve success in their life.

Tripura Science Talent Search Examination & Tripura Mathematical Talent Search Exam 2021-22

 Education (School) Department, Government of Tripura, has launched a scheme namely ‘Tripura Science Talent Search Examination (TSTSE) and Tripura Mathematical Talent Search Examination (TMTSE)’ for the regular students of class VI and IX for improving the standards of students of Science and Mathematics and enhancing their performance in the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) including other entrance examinations after HS (+2) state examination.

 It is a matter of great joy to mention that 4 students from Class 9 and 3 from Class 6 participated in the above-mentioned exam held on 20/02/22 for Junior Group and 19/12/21 for Senior Group. Participants won the accolades in Science and Math in both senior and junior categories. Now, these students are in Class 10 and 7 respectively. They secured their position in the top 200 meritorious students. Each of them has been receiving the scholarships of rupees 400 (junior group) and 500 (senior group) for 15 months.

Co-scholastic Achievements

 

International Level

"2nd Wako Indian Open International Kickboxing  Tournament-2022" was held at Talkatora Indore  Stadium, New Delhi, from 2nd to 6th November,  2022.

Altogether 5 national kickboxing champions participated to represent India. Rupanjali Datta (Class 10 passed out student) was one of those 5, who was selected as a player of Wako India Kickboxing Federation to participate in this event.  She secured 1st position and received 2 gold medals.

 

State Level

"Ustad Niyaz Ahemad Fayyaz Ahemad Khan Classical Voice of India Braja- Duni Memorial Classical Music Competition" was organized by Sangeet Milan. It was held on 6th September, 2022, in Agartala. One of our students from Class X, named Arnab Debnath, performed on the tabla in the competition and secured 2nd Position. He has been awarded a Medal and Certificate of Honour. He has also been selected for scholarship on 30th April, 2022, in the Hindustani Instrument- Tabla under Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme 2020.

Tripura State (Under 10) Girls Chess championship was held on 3rd April, 2022, in Agartala. It was organized by All Tripura Chess Association. Swastirupa Shil of Class 3 scored 3 points and secured 2nd position in the championship and received a trophy and rupees ₹ 800 /- in cash.

 Tripura State School Under-15 Open & Girls Rapid Rating Chess tournament-2022 for 44th Fide Chess Olympiad Promotion '' was held in Agartala from 10th June to 11th July, 2022. It was organized by the "Tripura Chess Association”. In this event, Swastirupa Shil of Class 3 scored 5 points and secured 2nd position (under 9 category).

Radhika Majumder of Class 6 also scored 6.5 points and secured the 4th position. Both have received a trophy and certificate of honor.

 

District Level

An Inter School Quiz Competition was held on 12th August, 2022, at Udaipur Science Centre in collaboration with Tripura State Pollution Control Board on the topic of "Environment Pollution and Single use plastic". It was organized by Udaipur science Centre (Tripura State Council For Science & Technology). In this prestigious event, a total 9 students, forming 2 groups (Group A and Group B), participated from the school. Group A secured the 2nd position and Group B secured the 1st position in this competition. Each of the winners received one bamboo pen stand, one memento of 'Azadi ka Amrit mahotsav' and a participation certificate. Group-wise the participants were:
