Teaching Approach

In Grades 9 and 10, classroom teaching practices are primarily focused on the preparation of the students for the Central Board Secondary Examinations(CBSE) so that their performance is optimally high in the Board examinations, thus enabling them to get admission in the field of their choice in higher studies. While continuing its pedagogical practices such as teacher modelling, active engagement of students, and collaborative learning, instructional activities are designed in such a way so that the students are able to meet the expectation and rigour of the Board syllabus. The learning plans are designed to achieve the learning outcomes which are well aligned with the Board question paper design for each subject. On a regular basis, assessments are taken and feedback is given to the students for improving the students’ performance.

Curriculum

The curriculum prescribed by the CBSE is strictly followed in these classes in all five core subjects given by the Board-English, Bengali/Hindi, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science. Relevant website resources are used and outside activities such as field trips are undertaken in order to reinforce their Board syllabus learnings.
