Science Workshop 

at Brilliant Stars School

On 20th October 2022, Brilliant Stars School organized a Science Workshop. In this workshop, the students of Grades 3 to 8 of BSS were involved in preparing and exhibiting science models and simple science gadgets. Two main objectives behind the workshop were:

1. to allow students to explore/brainstorm scientific theories and laws and apply those theories and laws to create working scientific models and simple gadgets
2. to provide a space for visitors to be able to understand the mechanism and use of the represented models and gadgets

It was a special day when students were away from the books and totally engaged themselves in hands-on experiences (experiential learning) with full enthusiasm by brainstorming ideas, drawing a plan based on their ideas and then preparing the models and gadgets. Charts were prepared, displayed and explained by the students, showing the concept and mechanism of their project. The students worked in groups and demonstrated 30 scientific models.      

An interesting part of the workshop was the support given by Grade 9 and 10 students to the junior students so that junior students work on meaningful concepts and execute them efficiently. Science teachers also helped the participants in their endeavours. We can say that the workshop aroused high our students' scientific curiosity and created a passion for exploration and experimentation with joy.
