Annual Sports Day 2022-23

Annual sports day is one of the most cherished events of the year, towards which our students very longingly look forward. This is the day when students showcase their strengths, talents, and skills. Moreover, through such events, we wish to develop among students the quality of appreciation towards someone’s efforts, skills and achievements.

This year two unique features were introduced on Annual Sports Day. We realized that most of our events on the Annual Sports Day focus on the display of physical strength through speed, power and stamina. With this realization, we introduced some indoor games such as chess and speedcubing, which require mental strength. Another feature was an introduction of cooperative games which encouraged the students to build the skills of collaboration and teamwork to reach the goal. 

The day began with the hoisting of the school flag by Principal Mr. Vinod Kumar. This was followed by welcoming the Chief Guest Mr.Rabindra Kumar, an associate Professor of Physical education at Netaji Subhash Mahavidyalaya, who lit a candle and shared some of his valuable thoughts about the importance of sports in students' lives. He said that developing good sportsmanship shows to kids how to behave politely during and after a game. Good sportsmanship builds teamwork and character and teaches respect, honour, discipline, kindness and perseverance

The event started with P.T. exercise by the students of Grade 3 and 4 and Yoga by some students of Grade 2 to 6 that mesmerized the audience with their energetic performances. Thereafter some stellars of BSS enchanted everyone with their rhythmic dancing movements. Altogether 370 students from Nursery to Grade 11 participated in the following outdoor and indoor events to showcase their talents and sportsmanship in the field of sports and games:

7. Jump and run

8. Relay race

9. Chess

10. Biscuit race

11. Throwing ball

In the end, the winners were awarded medals and certificates. Every participating students were given the Certificate of Participation to recognize their efforts. We highly acknowledge the team of teachers and admin staff for making this program a successful one.
