Independence Day Celebration 2023-24

Brilliant Star School celebrated the 77th Independence Day of India with great enthusiasm and fervour. This is a rewarding moment to pause and connect our children with the sacrifices and struggles made by the people to usher in freedom and progress in the country.

The celebration started with the offering of two prayers to the Almighty God. In the serene ambience wet by a light shower, the Indian National Flag was hoisted by the Principal, followed by the National Anthem and Slogan. We were privileged to have Mr. Dilip Das, one of the Society members of BSS, as a special guest in the programme.

The cultural programme was replete with various patriotic expressions through several modes of performing art such as dancing and singing. A choir group consisting of Grades 3 and 4 students sang a beautiful song 'Ek Sutre Bandhi Achi' (Bengali song) that spreads the message of unity in order to fight all the obstacles in life.

Addressing the audience, the Principal of the school shed the light on the theme of this Independence Day ‘Nation First, Always First’. He said how in each phase the nation manifested this theme by dedicating itself towards a special mission. First, in the pre-Independence stage, Nation First became manifested through complete dedication towards freeing the nation from the British rule and in the post-Independence stage, the theme became manifested through complete dedication towards nation-building in the educational sector, agriculture sector, health sector, etc. Now, we are in the 3rd stage, where we should see the manifestation of the theme in a beautiful balance between our spiritual values and advancement in science & technology in our country.
